Mathematics Curriculum Intent
The mathematics curriculum is a mastery curriculum. It is designed for ALL pupils to aim high and our pupils are taught with a ‘Maths, everyone can’ approach. We offer a curriculum that is both rewarding and an enjoyable 5-year journey where pupils leave as confident and numerate individuals.
Our curriculum is planned and sequenced so that pupils develop their skills and knowledge in small, manageable steps. This allows pupils to go into greater depth and really develop their understanding. Our curriculum is planned with interleaving and spacing in mind to help pupils practice their retrieval skills.
At Key Stage 3 we follow the whiterose scheme of learning and at Key Stage 4 we follow the OCR exam board specification.
We use Sparx Maths as an interactive homework option and a revision tool for pupils.
